Hi, I’m amber king.

As a dancer growing up, I have always been interested in a “healthy” lifestyle. As I became an adult, I quickly realized what I thought was healthy was more about what I appeared to look like on the outside, no matter the cost of what happened on the inside.

As I got married and began to think about having children, I stopped taking birth control. I did not get a period for 6 months, my cystic acne returned, and my hair was falling out in clumps. I was told that it would be very difficult for me to conceive naturally. I was diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism. I was devastated. As someone who has been extremely active her whole life, I thought I was the definition of health. It turns out that the way I was treating my body was not only unhealthy but it was exasperating the symptoms of my disorders. As I have dreamed of always being a mother, I knew I had to do something to change this. I went to my OBGYN and within my 15 minute appointment I was diagnosed with one autoimmune disease and one endocrine disorder and given a plan to get pregnant within the next month. I was overwhelmed, exhausted, full of anxiety, and felt depressed. I did not even have time to process the news before I was given a bandaid to fix it. As I sat in disbelief wondering why this was happening to me, I thought again. WHY is this happening to me? What is going on inside my body? What can I do to heal myself from the inside out? There began my journey to holistic health. Because of this, I have dedicated my life’s work to helping women overcome health obstacles thrown their way with no explanation. I strive to help women heal themselves from the inside out using a holistic approach to life and nutrition. Our health is not just about what is on our plate, it is about our relationships, our careers, our spirituality, and our physical activity. I want to help you heal your WHOLE self from the inside out. I have learned not to restrict and that diets are not sustainable. Finding this balance has changed the way I look at food, manage stress, and look at my body. I want to help you find this change and joy with your body and mind.

My Approach

Wellness is not one-size fits all. Wellness is a bio-individual process that starts from within. I believe that holistic health is not just about what we eat on our plate but also who we surround ourselves with, the careers we choose to take, how we move our body, and our spirituality. I have learned that the next fad diet will never work. The only way to make sustainable changes is to get back to the basics of food and life and find joy again from the inside out. I am a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and am so excited to share what I have learned and am continuing to learn with you.

on our plates

I want to work with you to find foods that work with your individual body and system. I will work with you to crowd out those foods that are not serving you to make room for the foods that will heal you and make you feel like your most lively and joyful self.

off our plates

Feeling stuck and unlike yourself can be draining, overwhelming, and chaotic. I want to help you find balance in the chaos of life and help you to feel radiant off your plate. I will hold you accountable, give you feedback on action steps and exercises personalized to you, and help you to reconnect with your truest self.
